Test Results
The test for dust mite efficacy runs for 12 weeks. The samples are seeded with a nutrient food source and 25 male and 25 female dust mites are left for 12 weeks. This allows the study of offspring mortality as the eggs laid by the females take 7 days to grow into mites. The eggs as they hatch die off within around 12 hours and adult males dustmites die within the first 24 hours, the females within the first 48 hours. So for the vast majority of the test there are no mites alive in a treated sample.

This test shows two different fabrics that are treated with Mitebusta at different concentrations. The bottom example is washed fifteen times in a home washing machine and is still effective although mites were found (9 and 11 respectively).
